Introduction to elastomer molded parts
Elastomer molded parts are an indispensable component in many industries, because their outstanding elastic properties and wide range of applications make them an ideal solution for numerous technical challenges. P+S stands for innovative productions and the highest quality standards, with a wide range of different material types that can cover almost all application-specific requirements. By designing the component based on the material, the component shape but also the combination of different materials, we are able to implement tailor-made solutions in a wide range of applications.
Features of elastomer moldings
The elastomer molded parts from P+S are manufactured in an efficient Low-pressure process as hot-cast elastomers manufactured. This special manufacturing process makes it possible to use forms of relatively simple construction, which can be found directly in low tool costs knocks down. This makes our elastomer moldings not only for large series, but also for Small and medium series extremely economical and attractive.
Another decisive advantage is the great flexibility in design: Thanks to the individual Contour and shape Of the component, we can select various technicalities influence and optimally on the available installation space enter. This tailor-made design, combined with our wide range of different Material variants, enables an extremely individual design the elastomer moldings. This results in solutions that are precisely tailored to the specific requirements of your application and guarantee a consistently high level of technical value.
materials
A decisive selection of high-performance materials characterizes the P+S offering. Available options include Diepothan®, which is available in degrees of hardness of 50 to 98 Shore A or up to 64 Shore D. Vulkollan®, a material with strong mechanical properties and high durability, offers a hardness of 80 to 97 Shore A or up to 60 Shore D. In addition to these materials, Vulkocell® and Diepocell®, available as standard with densities of 350 to 650 kg/m³ (special settings with lower but also higher densities can be produced), which have excellent damping and energy absorption capabilities.
Important physical and chemical properties
The elastomer molded parts from P+S have outstanding physical and chemical properties. Vulkollan® is known for its high wear resistance and durability. The mechanical wear resistance and high impact elasticity make Diepothan® an ideal material for many applications. It can be adjusted to specific influences such as microbial strength, hydrolysis stability and concrete resistance. Vulkocell® offers excellent spring properties, high force absorption, high volume compressibility and uniform compressive behavior for various demanding applications. Finally, sets Diepocell® maximum energy absorption and excellent damping properties are safe, which is ideal for applications with long suspension travel and low lateral expansion.
Material selection based on application requirements
The decision for the appropriate material depends decisively on the respective application requirements. Vulkocell® and Diepothan® are ideal for absorbing masses and decoupling vibrations. For maximum energy absorption, Diepocell® the best choice. For abrasion-resistant use, Vulkollan® and Diepothan® particularly suitable and offer high resistance to wear, shocks and extreme temperatures.
Manufacturing process for elastomer moldings
P+S offers various advanced manufacturing processes for the production of elastomer molded parts, which are precisely tailored to the requirements of the respective industrial sectors.
casting process
Low-pressure hot-casting, which has a Shore A hardness of 50 to 98, ensures precise shaping and consistently high quality for every molded part.
foaming
Shape-bound hot or hot foaming in a low pressure process, in a wide variety of densities, allows the materials to be flexibly adapted to specific requirements and also focuses on precision and quality.
Mechanical manufacturing
Mechanical production is carried out by processing semi-finished products such as blocks, plates or round bars. This method not only offers flexibility, but also the option of mechanically reworking the molded parts and thus adapting them to the requirements of the application.
Applications of elastomer molded parts
Elastomer molded parts are extremely versatile and are used in numerous sectors of industry.
transportation industry
In the transportation industry, elastomer molded parts from P+S are used in drive wheels, guide elements and seals to improve the efficiency and safety of vehicles and machines.
machine-building industry
In mechanical engineering, molded parts such as clamping elements, sealing rings and pressure & cutting strips help to optimize performance and durability. Thanks to their precision and durability, they are a reliable solution to many challenges.
agro-industry
Here, molded parts such as joint bearing seals and cabin bearings, but also spring elements in a wide variety of shapes and hardnesses (depending on requirements and specifications), offer robust and reliable protection for applications required in the agricultural industry.
Rail transport/railway technology
In the area of rail transport and railway technology, damping elements, wear bushings, but also spring systems for vibration decoupling of car bodies or powerful spring systems for switch adjustments along the tracks optimize performance. They improve the comfort of transport systems, contribute to safety and efficiency, and guarantee a long service life even under extreme conditions.
The future and sustainability of elastomer molded parts
P+S is aware of its responsibility towards our environment and focuses on sustainable production practices. The use of partially bio-based raw materials and Reach & RoHS compliant materials guarantees environmentally friendly product solutions. The procedures and processes at P+S are EcoVadis certified, which further underlines their environmental responsibility.
Eco-friendly materials and recycling options
While elastomer moldings can only be recycled to a limited extent, P+S offers options for upcycling, for example by selling foam waste for further use in other products. This contributes to the environmentally friendly corporate philosophy and underlines our commitment to sustainable solutions
