Diepothan
Manufacture and Properties
Diepothan‚ (registered trademark of P+S Polyurethane-Elastomer GmbH & Co. KG) is a polyester based polyurethane elastomer. Diepothan‚ excells due to a combination of outstanding physical and chemical properties. Diepothan‚ behaves well under mechanical stress and is particularly suited for application where a low hardness and a high degree of elasticity is required. Diepothan‚ castings are to be found in many areas of mechanical engineering i.e.
- paper machinery
- printing machineryschinen
- agricultural machinery
- production lines and conveyor belts
Typical Diepothan‚ castings include:
- gaskets
- wipers, scrapers and strippers
- metering bar holders
- cutting sticks
- clutch components
- membranes
- rollers
- coatings
- pressure rollers
- spring and dampening components.
Advantages
Some of the main advantages include:
- Shore A hardness 55° - 95°
- high elasticity
- free from plasticisers
- can be subjected to high loads and stresses
- good resistance against oil, grease and petrol
- good resistance against ozone, UV and other energy laden rays
- also suitable for continuos service operation at high temperatures.
